Dedicated to the World's Most Important Resource

Welcome to the Michigan Section of the American Water Works Association. The Section is a community of water professionals dedicated to treating, delivering, and protecting clean, safe water for Michigan communities.

The Section's response to the coronavirus outbreak. To put your name on the list of operators available to fill in at need, please complete the Emergency Operators form. To request a fill-in operator, please contact Bonnifer Ballard at 517-292-2912 ext 101.

Despite the threat from the corona virus pandemic, water and wastewater professionals across Michigan are getting to their plants every day and ensuring Michigan residents continue to have access to safe drinking water, and wastewater is treated in a safe and sanitary manner. As businesses and individuals face the challenges created by the state shutdown of non-essential services to mitigate disease spread, we want to thank each and every water professional who is working tirelessly to keep our water flowing. Crisis reveal character. Thousands of water utility workers are on the job 24 hours a day, seven days a week making sure we can all continue to wash our hands, cook meals and stay hydrated in order to remain healthy. Our water professionals play a vital role in the critical fight against COVID-19 and we thank them for their dedication during this challenging time. #wearehere, soyoucanbethere.   --Bonnifer Ballard, MI-AWWA Executive Director
