Topics covered include: system operation, chlorination, fluoridation, pH, alkalinity, hardness, coagulation and flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, rules and regulations.

Water Treatment I Short Course                                       1.8 CECs - Technical

Course ID# 348     *Early bird rate: $350 MI-AWWA Members/$440 Non-Members

This course is offered to allow water utility personnel an opportunity to acquire basic information in the subjects important to a water filtration plant. Topics covered include: system operation, chlorination, fluoridation, pH, alkalinity, hardness, coagulation and flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, rules and regulations.

It is recommended that operators enrolling in this course take Basic Math and Hydraulics or are competent in basic algebra and chemistry concepts.

Students meeting the attendance requirement may be awarded 1.8 continuing education credits in the “Technical” category.

Register early and save!

  • Registrations received by March 2, 2018 will receive a discounted rate of $350 for MI-AWWA Section members / $440 for non-members. 
  • Rates go up! Registration received after the date will be based on availability, $385 for MI-AWWA Section members and $475 for non-members.  Registration includes lunch on each day of class.

Accommodations are not included with registration.  A limited number of rooms are blocked for short course participants at a discounted rate, which include breakfast and dinner.  Contact the Conference Center at 269-671-2400 for rates and availability.   Download the housing information here.
